Really?… Another English Website?!!!

Well Yes, But Not Like You’ve Seen Before – Allow Me To Explain…

Way back in the distant past of 2008, I moved to Europe and got my certification from what I thought was a really cool language school in Prague, Czech Republic.  I was quite enthusiastic about this situation, until I realized that being a teacher in a school environment was about as fun for me as it was to be a student in one, over half of my life-time ago.

I didn’t fit in, nor did I want to, after I discovered how dishonest and shallow most of the people there actually were.

Perhaps it only felt that way because I myself, was not also, dishonest and shallow.

Regardless…

I was excited about being in Europe, about being “qualified” and certified to teach a language that I had been speaking for over 30 years…

And, since I had previously escaped from a slave-labor camp in the United States, where I was forced to learn how to write blog posts (not very well, at the time) and had my ego blown out from being in marketing and under the hypnotic influence of an evil dictator who had convinced me that I had to establish myself as an “Expert”…  (even though, at the time, the only things that I was an expert at, were either not exactly legal, or conversely, were not very lucrative)…

…Never-The-Less…

(Yes, I purposely spelled it that way…  Deal with it)
😎

…I thought that I should utilize these skills, and this delusion, and…

START A BLOG!!!

That was before I realized that someone who has absolutely no experience with actually teaching English (even if he has been speaking it for over 30 years) is probably not the best person to write a blog about the English Language…

That Was Then…

(Fast-forward eight years later and it is today…)

Since then, a lot has changed.  I left the blog alone for almost four years, while I gained experience, and then I started it back up again, after I started teaching English classes for a web-hosting company – along with taking on much broader styles of classes.

This lead to the necessity to have a source of information that I could use with my students, because the information in most of the popular text-books was just crap…

 This Is Now…

Now, GiveMeSomeEnglish!!! has moved to a self-hosted site with numerous sub-domains.  But maintaining a presence here on WordPress.com has continued to be important to me, as I think that this is a very wonderful and supportive community…

That, and I am hoping that it will draw people to the other sites as well.  But only because I have a great time writing the blog posts and hope that all of the resources will be helpful to more than just my personal students…

Okay, Okay…

I’m done being sappy, now get yer ass to class!  And start learning some “Authentic English!!!”

(Because nobody speaks like the examples in the text-books.)
